Barbie Brunch Party
Saturday 22 July, Opium, 26 Wexford Street, D2
For the weekend that’s in it, Opium are hosting their very own Barbie Brunch Party in celebration of all things pink, fun, and flirty for all the ‘80s and ‘90s babies. Expect Hawaiian flower necklaces, themed cocktails and girl pop bangers, as well as some ultimate Barbie tunes. The price of each ticket includes a delicious Asian brunch main, drag entertainment, a pink G&T, bespoke pink gin cocktails, prizes and trivia, and access to an afterparty in the Opium Malibu Garden.
Liz Magor: The Rise and The Fall
All weekend, The Douglas Hyde Gallery of Contemporary Art, Trinity College, D2
The first solo exhibition in Ireland by renowned Canadian artist Liz Magor, The Rise and The Fall presents a focused selection of works produced over the last five years that explore our relationship with the material world, inviting us to examine the tension between attraction and disinterest. Magor transforms muted, everyday objects into active, concerned protagonists. Whether it’s a weathered coat, discarded toy, or empty sweet wrappers, the works are a recognition of the eloquence of materiality, allowing the items we accumulate and discard throughout our lives an opportunity to express their vibrancy.
Negro Impacto & Friends
Saturday 22 July, Hen’s Teeth, D8
Join Negro Impacto’s Chi-chi and StrangeLove for an all day take over of Hen’s Teeth featuring one of the most party-centric line ups of the summer! There’ll be sounds from Papa Romeo, Shiv (DJ Set), Bella Festa, Handsome Paddy, Bobofunk and more. Tickets are €8, and the kitchen will be serving up some tasty food throughout.
IMMA Outdoors
All weekend, Irish Museum of Modern Art, Royal Hospital Kilmainham, D8
IMMA Outdoors is a dynamic programme of free events that activates the museum’s site, through artist-led events, performances, music, talks, screenings, workshops, open studios and tours. This year’s programme includes IMMA Nights, an evening series of events taking place every Thursday and Sunday at IMMA.
Sip & Sculpt: Make Your Own Boob Pots
Sunday 23 July, The Grand Social, Liffey Street Lower, D1
How about spending your Sunday evening creating your very own pair of clay boobs? Well, you can do exactly that at The Grand Social, where an instructor will lead you through all the essentials so that you can craft a breasty pot, and learn all the basics of air dry clay in the process. It’s an hour and a half in length, and you can sip away on some tasty drinks while you work.
Malahide Family Fun Day
Sunday 23 July, Malahide, Dublin
Malahide Family Fun Day is taking place on the Green and New Street from 12 to 5pm, and will feature children’s games, live music, puppet shows, storytelling, and vintage games. There’ll also be some impressive circus skills on display, as well as much more fun and amusement for you and your family to enjoy.
Single & Ready To Mingle Hike
